According to its properties and components, silica gel can be divided into two categories: organic silica gel and inorganic silica gel.

Inorganic silica gel is a highly active adsorption material, usually made by reacting sodium silicate with sulfuric acid and undergoing a series of post-treatment processes such as aging and acid soaking. Silica gel is an amorphous substance with a chemical formula of mSiO2.nH2O. It is insoluble in water and any solvent, non-toxic and odorless, with stable chemical properties, and does not react with any substance except strong alkali and hydrofluoric acid.

Uses of organic silica gel

The application range is very wide. It is not only used as a special material in aviation, cutting-edge technology, and military technology departments, but also used in various sectors of the national economy. Its application range has expanded to: construction, electronics and electrical, textiles, automobiles, machinery, leather and papermaking, chemical and light industry, metals and paints, medicine and medical treatment, etc.

White carbon black, also known as precipitated hydrated silica and fine silicic acid. Properties: The main component of this product is SiO2, and its molecular formula is SiO2nH2O1. It is white, amorphous, fine powder, light in weight, and has an original diameter of less than 0.0003 cm. The melting point is 1750℃, with high insulation, insoluble in water and acid, soluble in caustic soda and hydrofluoric acid, does not decompose at high temperatures, and has water absorption. This product is a reinforcing filler widely used in the rubber and plastics industry. Its reinforcing effect in rubber products is second only to carbon black. The main characteristics of vulcanized rubber with white carbon black are: high swelling strength, high elongation, good elasticity and heat resistance. This product is suitable for natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Adding 5-10 parts of white carbon black to the tread rubber of natural/styrene-butadiene rubber and natural/butadiene rubber load-bearing tires instead of part of carbon black can improve the tear strength of the rubber and the thermal stability of the vulcanized rubber. In the formula, adding silane coupling agent (Si--69) at the same time will have a better effect.

3. Uses: Used as a filler for rubber, plastic, coatings, paint (putty) and synthetic resins. Also used as an ink thickener, a light metal polish, a casting release agent and insulating material. Also used in the manufacture of white pigments, models and pesticide carriers and adhesives, etc.
